Practice Philosophy

The philosophy of our practice is firmly rooted in prevention. Many people accept dental decay, gum disease, and eventual tooth loss as a normal part of the ageing process. However all these diseases are preventable. By providing expert advice on diet, and helping you maintain excellent oral hygiene, we aim to teach you how to keep your teeth for life.

When treatment is necessary the old proverb: "A stitch in time saves nine" sums up our approach. Regular check-ups allow us to diagnose problems long before they become painful.
Using the most modern treatment options available, we can quickly restore the problem, and remove the need for more expensive treatment at a later date.

Unfortunately Mother Nature does not always provide us with the smile we desire. We provide all forms of cosmetic treatment, from orthodontics to cosmetic veneers and bleaching techniques. We will however always ensure that cosmetic treatment will not jeopardise the long-term health of your teeth. And we will always explain the pros and cons of any procedure to allow you to make an informed choice.

The cornerstone of a good Dentist-Patient relationship is communication, and we are always glad to discuss any concerns or worries you may have. This is especially true if you are a nervous patient. Where necessary we can arrange for treatment to be carried out under sedation or even under General Anaesthetic. However we firmly believe that even the most severe dental phobia can be overcome with a sympathetic approach and gradual introduction to the benefits of modern dentistry.
